About the role
The key responsibilities for the Regional Tax Manager position include leadership of a small tax compliance team, providing business partnering support to FLSmidth businesses based in North America and strategic support to the Group Tax team. This position sits in our beautiful Salt Lake City offices.
About the department
The regional tax department is responsible for supporting the Group Tax function with respect to compliance for direct & indirect taxation; governance of tax policy; risk management; financial reporting of taxes and providing value adding business partnering support to the regional management and business teams. The role will report directly to the Head of Tax for the FLSmidth Group and will actively support the diverse businesses within the region and the functional teams assisting them. Additionally, the role is supported by the specialist tax advisors within the Group Tax team. You will join a diverse and ambitious team in supporting the region’s businesses.
Job scope:
- Supporting business operations with timely professional tax advice and services
- Management of statutory filing obligations for corporate and indirect taxes
- Supporting the businesses to comply with the Group Tax policy and procedures
- Management of audits and information requests from tax authorities
- Assistance in the financial reporting of taxes
- Management of the assessment and mitigation of tax risks
- Assisting the Group Tax transfer pricing team
Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience from a multi-disciplinary international tax perspective
- Background in tax as a lawyer, accountant or advisor
- Broad based tax knowledge with commercial insights
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), with Spanish language skills an advantage.
- Business partnering and influencing skills
