Summary
As Warehouse operator, you will receive and organize the incoming products to ensure that all goods are identified and properly labeled to feed the business’s material demands.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, unpack and store incoming shipments appropriately.
- Examine incoming shipments.
- Create a Daily Incoming shipments report in company databases.
- Receive product in the system within 48 hours or arrival.
- Monitors the incoming shipments and keep up with the warehouse inventory levels.
- Inspect products for defects and damages.
- Partners with all functions to escalate and resolve technical issues with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Reviews and provides input on instructions to understand and improve output.
- Monitor inventory levels and carry out stock counts as and when required.
- Prepare and organize received stock for inventory and outgoing shipments.
- Drives and sustains “Lean culture” initiatives in the area.
- Drives and sustains a high level of housekeeping in the area.
- Performs daily tasks of labeling, wrapping, loading, unloading and data input to complete shipping & receiving process.
- Match shipments to their associated purchase orders and enter receiving data into the company database.
- Ensure delivery of material to production lines in accordance with production standards.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to review and interpret details of job packets, packing list and customer orders.
- Ability to work well with others and train in a team environment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Proficiency in a variety of software programs including Epicor, Microsoft word & Excel.
- Ability to operate forklift, stretch wrapper, and rolling machines
- Abide by all company rules, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Have a strong sense of time organization and urgency.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Data entry and computer skills.
- Ability to work on feet for long hours.
Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 5 years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift certification under class I, II, III & IV.
Physical Requirements/Demands
- Regularly required to stand and walk. Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required for this job including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
