Job Profile Summary

All work will be conducted in Salt Lake County, Utah.

Salt Lake City Midvale Office – 20%, Customer Min Site Equipment Maintenance contract execution – 40%, Site Sales Assistance – 40%.

Half of weekly responsibilities will consist of physically and mechanically maintaining customer site equipment. Maintenance focus is on carrying out routine inspections on the machines and replacing, or repairing parts to promote their functionality.

Other weekly responsibilities:

Liaising directly with customers and fostering relationships leading to growth within the Mining service division, including commissioning and operational readiness areas. Responsible for the development of additional field service work, parts sales, and rebuild and retrofit opportunities at the customer site. Responsible for customer satisfaction of the site services.

Your responsibilities

  • Mechanical aptitude to fixing unfamiliar process equipment
  • Work independently on customer sites without direct supervision
  • Repair and maintenance of instruments, equipment and systems
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Provide customer support by phone, email and remotely
  • Work with sales and engineering departments to specify solutions for new systems and upgrades
  • Monitor customers and the market for new opportunities and provide leads for the sales department
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders regarding quality issues and suggestions for product and process improvements
  • Provide thorough and timely reporting of services provided, as well as point out key issues to management and customers
  • Extensive contact with customers. Must be able to maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Promote a “safety first” culture by active participation in safety training (skills and regulatory) and diligent use of Personal Protective Equipment “PPE” , combined with other safe work practices.
  • Exhibit strong work ethic, positive attitude, trustworthiness, honesty, and attention to detail.
  • Perform special assignments and additional tasks as assigned

What You Bring

  • GED/High School graduate
  • Mechanical discipline certification a plus (ASME or equivalent years of experience is preferred)
  • Up to 5 years experience in equipment maintenance and/or field service / commissioning experience in rotating equipment or related industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a service provider-based role preferred
  • Able to effectively communicate in written and verbal forums in a professional manner
  • Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment
  • Excellent physical condition
  • Fluent in English
  • Able to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders with a high level of customer focus
  • Able to work on several projects simultaneously and adapt to a changing work environment
  • Show initiative, a willingness to learn, be responsible, self-motivated and take ownership of resolving problems
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software, preferably Microsoft Office and Word.
  • A desire to always achieve a mutually beneficial outcome for both the company and customer
  • Interface effectively with all levels of FLSmidth personnel and customers and to present a professional image, consistent with representing FLSmidth
  • Be able to work independently to handle a variety of managerial functions in a prompt, efficient, accurate, and confidential manner
  • Monitor and report progress of activities to management on a timely and consistent basis
  • Able to effectively communicate with hourly or salaried personnel
  • Physical Demands: Walking, climbing stairs, climbing on or around equipment, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, lifting (20 pounds).
