The Minerals Testing & Research Center provides technical expertise throughout all phases of the R&D project lifecycle for equipment and process development as well as support flowsheet design and optimization to mineral processing concentrators globally. Our world renowned laboratory is used by a team of metallurgical and chemical engineers, chemists, mineralogists, and technicians to discover solutions for our customers. Your responsibilities
- Promote a culture of personal and team safety at the Minerals Testing & Research Center
- Prepare and maintain advanced laboratory bench and pilot equipment for testing specific to autoclave, roasting, leaching, and other mineral processing technologies
- Develop techniques to provide effective solutions for process improvements
- Contribute to all areas of the testing programs including sample preparation, characterization, and conducting mineral processing tests following advanced procedures
- Evaluate and analyze complex tests and results. Communicate with clients on test results
- Identify ways to improve safety, quality, and execution in laboratory testing or piloting methodologies
- Work within a cross-functional team environment of project stakeholders including clients, engineers, technicians, and R&D
What you bring
- B.Sc. Degree in a science, engineering, or other relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years in the minerals industry
- Minimum 2 years in autoclaving, roasting, leaching, and other mineral processing applications
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop team and add to knowledge base
- Effectively communication with clients to develop work scopes and proposals
- Ability to write reports and present test results
- Must be authorized to work in the US and capable of international travel
- Some process modelling experience
